MOUNTING LOCATION: Inside Opening CAN INSERTS BE USED: Yes - Not Recommended The SMALL STOP MOUNT is a typical installation method that requires a stop to be installed in each opening prior to installation. This method can be used with both Panels and Walls with little trouble in most cases. This method is also one of the simplest and best for units under 84" in width. Complete installation is performed from the interior. Screen Panels or Walls are inserted into each opening and pushed forward until resting against the applied stop. Units are then screwed into place either by face screwing through the Master Frame into the stop or by screwing through the Master Frame sideways into the structure's columns. MAJOR RESTRICTIONS & NOTES: We do not recommend this method if units are over 84" in width. Additionally, the security of the overall installation, while more than sufficient for screen only Panels and Walls, is not strong enough for Polycarbonate or Vinyl inserts to be utilized. It is also highly recommended that sufficient help is available during installation to lift and hold Panel(s) or Wall(s) in place until they can be fully mounted to structure. If your opening requires the installation of more than 1 panel into the opening "R" CHANNELS would be used to cover all panel seams. See "R" CHANNEL INSTRUCTIONS for details. .pdf VERSION If side screwing, we recommend the use of a trim screw type deck screw as shown above. Counter sink for a clean installation. Measuring... Measuring for the small stop mount is extremely simple. 1) Measure each opening height and width. Measure in several locations (top, middle, bottom, left side, center, right side, etc.) and record the smallest measurements taken. (To help, you may find it better to draw out each opening and note the measurements and locations taken) 2) Determine the amount of gap you would like for each side of each panel. Normally a gap of 1/8" on all sides or sufficient but the is will depend upon the stop sized used and how out of square your opening is. Severely out of square openings may require a larger stop, a larger gap, or both. 3) Subtract the gap amount from the smallest opening measurements taken for each opening. Remember - to include the gap required for all 4 sides. EXAMPLE: If you've determined a 1/8" is good for each side, you'll need to subtract 1/4" from your smallest opening width and from your smallest opening height. 4) The resulting sizes would be your true manufacture size for each panel or wall being ordered. You can also modify this installation as required for your particular installation requirements. Very Important... In all cases, your submitted sizes are to be True Manufacture Sizes (TTT production sizes) required. We do not modify order sizes.
