Spline...

Used to secure screen material into the frames spline channel. Spline must be sized correctly. Too small - the screen material will not hold, Too large - you will not be able to install the spline.

Our shop uses a combination of Hollow Serrated or Polyfoam spline based upon frame material and screen material being installed. Polyfoam is a much easier material to install but cannot be reused once removed from spline channel. Hollow serrated is slightly harder to install but can normally be reused if removed.

  USE SPLINE
FRAME POLYFOAM HOLLOW
FRM516 PF140 SS140
FRM516E PF160 SS160
FRM716 PF140 SS140
FRM1716 PF200 SS200
FRM1716E PF250 SS250
SWSMF PF140 SS140
SWSDM PF140 SS140

You should not deviate from recommended polyfoam spline sizes. Hollow Serrated spline sizes should only be adjusted if you are using a screen material that has a higher or lower gauge than typical. If screen gauge is less than .009 you may need to increase spline size. If screen gauge is greater than .013 you may need to reduce spline size.
